January Christopher Fountain Discusses Cloud Security At CES Government

SecureInfo CEO Joins Government Executives on Cloud Strategies and Execution Panel
Washington, DC, January 12, 2010 – SecureInfo® Corporation, a market-proven provider of Information Assurance solutions, today announced that Christopher Fountain, CEO of SecureInfo, participated in the Cloud Strategies and Execution Panel at the January CES Government 2010 Conference. Mr. Fountain was joined by Tom Soderstrom, NASA Chief Technology Officer; Jerry Davis, NASA Chief Security Officer; Casey Coleman, General Services Administration CIO; as well as other government and industry executives.
"Cloud computing offers significant advantages to the government," said Mr. Fountain. "And while securing the cloud offers it’s own set of challenges, the fundamentals of IT security don’t change—protecting data is paramount and there still needs to be a risk management framework and a process for continuous assessment, accountability, and measurement.”

Mr. Fountain went on to outline key techniques for addressing security in a cloud environment, including leveraging security standards, sharing accreditation of common controls, and managing security at the object- versus system-level for greater control, efficiency, and management.

Mr. Fountain cited DISA DECCs (DoD Enterprise Computing Centers), which provides data center services in the Cloud, and DISA RACE (Rapid Access Computing Environment), which provides application services in the Cloud as excellent examples of a community cloud computing environment.

CES Government 2010 brought together senior technology and management executives from government and business for focused discussions and substantive keynote addresses. The conference reflected the global nature of government challenges and the importance of effectively applied information technologies to help address those challenges. Speakers offered best practices against the backdrop of government challenges, such as healthcare, homeland security and energy.
